Join our Regional Outpatient Team as a Nurse Consultant!
About the role:
Reporting to the Regional Manager Outpatient Central Services, this role will be required to provide secondary and tertiary prevention, assessment, management, referral and rehabilitation of patients in hospital and in community outpatient settings for clients with alcohol and other drug issues. This regional service to Ceduna will also provide support to clients in Port Lincoln in collaboration and guidance from our Port Lincoln DASSA worker within the Local Health Network.
Duties for the role will include:
* Provide direct, expert clinical nursing/midwifery care, select and implement different therapeutic interventions, provide individual case management to a defined population of patients/clients and evaluate progress.
* Contribute to the development of, implementation of, and monitoring of corporate policies and processes and lead in their area of expertise.
* Contribute clinical expertise to learning environments, which may include individual/team capability development and/or post registration clinical teaching.
* Applies evidenced based recommendations to improve practice and service function.
Please note: This role based in Port Lincoln involves working from our Ceduna clinic in a fly in / fly out capacity for an average of 4 days per month. Accommodation and transport will be provided in Ceduna.
About you:
* Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-direct to prioritise workload, set timelines, manage workload demands, maintain accurate records, assess and analyse problems and formulate solutions to achieve objectives.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
* Experience in the supervision of students, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and or midwives.
