Ship & Sail Gladstone, a reputable and leading Mercury Marine Centre in Central Queensland, is seeking a dynamic and hardworking individual to join our team as a Small Engine Mechanic / Marine Technician. Ship & Sail Gladstone is fortunate to be located at the Gladstone Marina, where you will have waterfront views while you work.
Responsibilities are:
* Perform diagnostics, detecting and diagnosing faults in engines
* Diagnosing and testing parts and engines using electronic diagnostic
* Repairs and maintenance on Mercury Marine engines and systems.
* Dismantling and removing engines, and engine components
* Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts, and reassembling engines and parts as necessary
* Ability to perform high-quality repair and maintenance services across various makes and models.
* Ability to perform rebuilds, fit-outs, and modifications across various models.
* Conduct routine inspections and services, including oil changes, filter replacement and system checks.
* Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to identify and resolve issues.
* Provide excellent customer service, ensuring clear communication and addressing client enquiries.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time allocated for each job.
* Stay updated on Mercury Marine product knowledge and technical advancements through training and workshops.
Requirements:
* Qualified Marine Technician or similar trade as for the right candidate we can offer to RPL.
* At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
* Experience with Mercury engines preferable
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
* Proficient in using diagnostic tools, software, and equipment for troubleshooting.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and customer service abilities.
* Valid driver's license.
