The Role
The Ecology team in our Perth office is seeking their newest member. This is a friendly bunch who work well together with a strong team culture.
Your Responsibilities
* Providing high-quality service and advice in your area of expertise to clients and colleagues, in both office-based and fieldwork activities
* Participating in field survey programs to collect a variety of different ecological data focusing on SRE invertebrates
* Interpreting and applying environmental legislation and technical guidance to projects across a variety of different sectors
* Developing technical reports detailing the outcomes of field survey programs and implications for environmental impact assessment and management
* Assisting in preparing tenders and proposals
* Integrating your technical work into multidisciplinary assessments and project teams
* Making independent studies, analyses, interpretations, conclusions, and decisions and preparing reports outlining the findings of these studies
* Traveling to remote areas, including interstate, to conduct field survey programs
* Training junior staff in collection and processing of SRE invertebrate specimens
Requirements
* An appropriate tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources, or in another related field
* 2-6+ years' experience in an ecological role in the environmental consulting sector or an equivalent role in government or academia, including undertaking SRE invertebrate surveys and report production
* Experience in the design and implementation of SRE invertebrate field surveys and monitoring programs
* Excellent SRE invertebrate identification skills
* Experience in preparing invertebrate specimens for submission to taxonomic experts and the WA Museum
* Mature report writing and computer skills, with demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality written material for publication
* Proven ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks
* Proven project management experience in relation to client management and budget control
