to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Alice Springs, Australia.
This position can be filled at a level 3 or 4
This role requires a two (2) year commitment and the ability to successfully pass a physical and psychological exam. Ability to work odd and/or extended hours covering a 24/7 period and periodic 12-hour shifts.
A comprehensive overseas compensation package is offered with this position including relocation assistance.
Essential Functions:
The software team in Alice Springs, AUS requires individuals with software engineering experience who can work in a structured, configuration-controlled environment, primarily focused on the support and maintenance of Real Time software applications. Qualified candidates will be responsible for evaluating operational software problems and providing immediate solutions to restore service. Responsibilities also include the integration and verification of new baselines using automated deployment and internal software orchestration tools. Qualified candidates must be able to work in a dynamic and fast paced team environment, utilizing DevOps best practices to improve software integration cycles and system reliability.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Support, maintenance and documentation of software applications
Determination of the operational feasibility of software modifications
Employing automated infrastructure provisioning tools to manage configurations across environments
Development and sustainment of software tools that complement software maintenance and install activities
Perform verification of operational software standards
On-call 24/7 emergency anomaly response to support restoration of software operations
Level 3 Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 5 years of engineering/technical experience
OR
a Master of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 3 years of engineering/technical experience
OR
PhD in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 1 year of engineering/technical experience.
Demonstrated leadership skills with inter-program and outside customer contacts providing solutions to difficult technical issues
Demonstrated ability in Python, PERL, or other Scripting languages
Experience with C++, Java, or Python programming languages
Proficiency with VMS or Linux/UNIX operating systems
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance, SCI Access, and ability to complete a counterintelligence polygraph examination prior to start date
Level 4 Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 8 years of engineering/technical experience
OR
a Master of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 6 years of engineering/technical experience
OR
PhD in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 4 years of engineering/technical experience.
Demonstrated leadership as a prime technical contact with experience guiding the successful completion of program milestones
Demonstrated ability in Python, PERL, or other Scripting languages
Experience with C++, Java, or Python programming languages
Proficiency with VMS or Linux/UNIX operating systems
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance, SCI Access, and ability to complete a counterintelligence polygraph examination prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance/SCI Access with a counterintelligence (CI) polygraph examination adjudicated within the last five years
Possess strong self-initiative and ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with software, hardware, and systems test engineers, system administrators, and program/functional management
Experience in DevOps solutions to complex engineering issues and tasks
Experience with Software Change Control, Configuration Management, CI/CD philosophy and execution with tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, Eggplant or others
Experience with containerized applications using in Docker, Kubernetes and Helm (or similar) and managing deployment through Ansible
Experience leading a team under Agile methodologies and framework
Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Subversion, Confluence; experience with git and git workflow
Prior full life cycle software development experience
Software applications engineering experience on Atlantis, Rodeo, Rushmore, COAST, or associated development contracts
Salary Range:
$100,300 - $150,500
Salary Range 2:
$124,900 - $187,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
