Maintenance Team
The maintenance team is responsible for ensuring the upkeep and servicing of all site facilities, plant, and equipment, in accordance with the highest safety and compliance standards.
Duties of the Maintenance Manager
Reporting directly to the Strahan Farm Manager, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the timely preventative maintenance and repairs at the aquaculture farm, including facilities, machinery, vehicles, vessels, and associated farm assets. This extends to troubleshooting and scheduled servicing through Petuna's equipment maintenance program.
The successful candidate will be highly experienced in maintenance systems overseeing the continuous improvement of the farm assets and executing operational and strategic plans. As a leader of a highly effective team, the Maintenance Manager will also engage with external contractors where required to coordinate the same level of work being completed.
Key duties and responsibilities for the role include:
* Conduct all work safely, in line with company policies and procedures.
* Ensure that all facilities, plant and equipment are maintained and serviced to meet the highest safety and compliance standards.
* Ensure that all breakdowns are minimised and repairs and corrective actions identified are carried out in a timely manner.
* Ensure that all requests / corrective actions that may affect the safety or integrity of an asset are given an immediate priority, action and outcome.
* Maintain accurate records of all planned, unplanned and corrective action maintenance, via our Windows (MEX) based maintenance software system.
* Communicate to help ensure critical spares are available onsite as needed.
* Manage operational budgets and contribute to strategic and operational plans and capital projects.
* Continued focus and development of a safe working culture for all farm maintenance personnel and ensuring the team skillset continues to receive ongoing development.
* Driving a results focused continuous improvement culture that embraces technology and efficiency with a companywide one team approach.
Qualifications Required
* A trade qualification in a relevant discipline, preferably fitting, mechanical maintenance, diesel or welding.
* Previous experience (ideally 3+ years) leading a maintenance team.
* Mechanical/marine engineering experience would be an advantage.
* Demonstrated experience in proactive maintenance scheduling and systems.
* An established background and commitment to safe work practice and systems.
* An ability to make decisions independently whilst having the foresight to consult the Farm Manager when necessary.
* A work ethic that is highly organised, with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
* Current Right to work in Australia.
