Join us in shaping the future of aviation as we propel Melbourne Airport towards becoming Australia's favourite Airport destination.Key responsibilities: The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:Lead the project team to develop comprehensive project briefs in collaboration with stakeholders before initiating the design process, ensuring all requirements and expectations are clearly defined.Guide the project design team to consistently meet APAM's standards and requirements, ensuring all design aspects align with the organisation's objectives and regulatory needs.Ensure that all project designs, particularly those that are passenger-facing, maintain a strong emphasis on enhancing the Customer Experience, ensuring user satisfaction and efficiency.Where possible, incorporate innovative practices such as off-site manufacturing to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the overall quality and sustainability of the project.Actively engage and manage both internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure effective communication, alignment, and collaboration.Lead the development of accurate and realistic project budgets for all assigned projects, ensuring financial resources are allocated efficiently to meet project goals.Implement a strategic procurement approach that maximises value through effective risk management and well-negotiated commercial terms, tailored to the specific needs of each project.Take a proactive stance on cost control and management, ensuring that all financial aspects of the project are closely monitored and remain within agreed benchmarks.Prioritise safety across all project activities, fostering a culture where safety is always at the forefront, with the goal of achieving zero incidents (Target Zero).Guide project teams to successfully deliver all project milestones on time, while ensuring that the final product, in both design and construction, meets the highest standards of quality.The successful candidate will have: Tertiary qualified with experience in engineering, planning, development and delivery of projects in the Built Environment, or related experience within this field.Previous Project Management/ Project Delivery Experience through all stages of the Project Lifecycle.End to end experience in leading built environment capital projects in a 24/7 complex operational environment.Experienced in leading multiple sub-programs or projects concurrently to meet agreed timelines.Experiencing in leading multi-disciplinary design teams through the project lifecycle.Strong financial management and commercial acumen.Experience in construction procurement methodologies.Strong interpersonal and relationship skills need to be able to communicate at all levels internally and externally including clear and concise communication.Experience in anticipating problems and proactively mitigating potential issues.The ability to tailor communication methods and practices to the relevant stakeholder audience.Proven ability to influence third parties (internally and externally) in a high-pressure environment.We understand that not everyone will feel they meet all of these 100%.
