Job Description
Under general supervision (Level 2), or limited supervision (Level 3):
Undertakes field survey and measurement of native vegetation to support the planning and management of forest ecosystems. This involves regular fieldwork assisting in a range of programs, including mapping the extent of Phytophthora dieback disease, measurement of trees and vegetation, and field survey of management boundaries and natural features.
Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following four (4) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total.
1. Demonstrated ability and experience (Level 2), or considerable experience (Level 3), working in native forests or plantations, undertaking field surveys, tree measurement or plant disease mapping, and collecting and organising field data.
2. Ability to identify issues and implement solutions to practical and technical problems.
3. Demonstrated ability (Level 2) to work effectively in a team, show initiative and work under general (Level 2) or limited (Level 3) supervision.
4. Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in natural or plantation forest environments, including willingness to work away from home base for occasional or extended overnight stays in the South West.
