It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations, and correctional and health facilities. About the role You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing procurement and category management, identifying improvements through strategic sourcing, and offering expert advice on procurement best practices and contract performance. Duties and skills involved: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Queensland Procurement Policy, delegations, and relevant government procurement legislation. Undertake strategic, complex, and sensitive procurement activities for QBuild and its partner agencies. Conduct research, spend and market analysis, and stakeholder engagement to develop category plans and procurement strategies for building, construction, and maintenance services. Ensure effective category management and reporting, contributing to continuous improvement by monitoring and refining procurement procedures. Collaborate with stakeholders to provide guidance on sourcing solutions, contract terms, negotiations, and contractor performance. Develop and deliver category management and procurement training programs, including industry briefs, contractor inductions, and skills frameworks for both internal and external stakeholders. Lead and motivate the procurement team, ensuring high performance, professionalism, and adherence to quality assurance and customer service standards. Preferred skills and experience: Previous experience in procurement within the building and construction industry Level 2, Procurement Certificate Program All applicants must be eligible to work in Australia.
