They are seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant with construction experience to join their finance team and support accounting processes, with a strong focus on Accounts Payable. This role is an initial 4-month hourly rate contract with potential to go longer term. This is best suited to someone immediately available, who doesn't mind being hands on for a short-term role. The Role As Junior Accountant, you will play a key role in the finance department, contributing to the financial operations and ensuring smooth payment processing. Your duties will include: Managing the Accounts Payable function, including processing invoices, payment runs, and reconciliations. Assisting with BAS (Business Activity Statements) and FBT (Fringe Benefits Tax) reporting. Supporting the preparation of month-end financial reports and assisting in general financial reporting activities. Collaborating with project managers and suppliers to resolve any invoice discrepancies or payment issues. Ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. Supporting the Finance Manager in ad-hoc accounting tasks and projects. Skills & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Multiple years' experience in Finance & Accounts, ideally within the construction industry. Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes. Familiarity with BAS and FBT reporting is a plus.
