Job Description
This is a unique opportunity to join an organisation where delivering high level training, coaching and mentoring as a Training Officer is integral to our business objectives. You will be a highly motivated person with a passion for training and have experience delivering on the job training to frontline employees.
The role, which will be based in Darwin, will require extensive travel throughout Outback Stores' network of retail outlets across Northern Territory, South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia. You will deliver training and advocate the retail training programs to our employees working in remote communities.
We are looking for someone whose organisation skills will be exceptional and who has the ability to form strong bonds with current employees, stakeholders, and has the passion to want people to succeed in their individual employee development.
We are seeking a person that engages and encourages employees to develop their skills, enjoys remote travel, and the challenge that being remote can bring. You will be a person who is determined to make a difference and with your training and experience, you will be able to provide regular feedback for continuous improvement. You will directly participate in professional development and compliance activities.
As a Training Officer, you will be able to share your knowledge, collaborate with community members, and enjoy some of the most remote parts of Australia.
What you'll be doing:
* Planning, designing and delivering engaging and effective training that is tailored directly to the specific needs of the indigenous workforce.
* Conducting assessments of employees to ensure their competency in performing tasks is in accordance with relevant training packages.
* Collaborating with both operational and store management to identify potential trainees and coordinate enrolments.
* Ensuring training and assessment processes are in compliance with applicable legislation and industry standards.
* Promoting a safety-focused culture in all areas of the workplace.

Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful in the role you will have:
Outback Stores desires our Training Officers to have a range of skills that are transferable to our team environment, this includes:
* A current Certificate IV in Training & Assessment qualification.
* Experience in mentoring, training, and developing a diverse team.
* Experience in delivering training packages to frontline team members.
* Previous experience in retail is an advantage.
* Self-motivated & able to manage own workload.
* Sound customer service and relationship building skills.
* Strong computer literacy, with the ability to learn new software.
