Position Summary
Cleans and sanitizes the meat department, dismantles equipment to sanitize, re-stocks supplies, assists with stocking cases, and follows department procedures for quality and consistency of finished merchandise. Collects laundry and delivers it to the laundry service pick-up area while adhering to proper safety procedures and standards.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
1. Cleans and sanitizes the meat room, meat cooler, and supply area.
2. Washes, applies cleaning agents, wipes, and mops all surfaces.
3. Pressure washes the entire room and empties the drain screen.
4. Dismantles equipment.
5. Washes, rinses, and sanitizes removable parts.
6. Wipes down stationary parts with cleaning agent and sprays with a pressure washer.
7. Washes small containers and utensils.
8. Re-stocks meat room supplies and boxes of meat.
9. Collects cardboard and trash; operates trash compactor and cardboard baler.
10. Takes laundry to the laundry service pick-up area.
11. Logs sanitation procedures performed on the daily report.
12. Complies with health code.
13. Follows safety and security procedures and reads labels for proper use and precautions of cleaning products.
14. Assists with stocking cases and follows department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished product.
15. Follows Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines for cleaning and sanitation of all equipment.
16. Completes and complies with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification, and all safety training required by the warehouse and Meat Department.
17. Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
18. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors.
19. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery including Commercial Grinder, wheeled racks, wrapping machine, pressure washer, trash compactor, and cardboard baler.
Qualifications
Education/Training: High School Certificate
Licenses/Certifications: Comparable experience
Experience/Skills: Strong customer service, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; problem solving and critical thinking.
Other Specific Requirements:
• Food Safety Certification
• Hazardous Materials Training - Module 1 (within 30 days)
