Job Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for an exceptional, technically minded Longwall Mechanical Service Technician / Engineer to join our global organization. Reporting to the Field Service Coordinator. You will be responsible for ensuring optimum performance for the organization’s mining systems in terms of safety, reliability and productivity.
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Provide customers with pro-active advice and support, increasing equipment performance and productivity.
2. Facilitate Flawless Start-up plans in line with global policy.
3. Develop and standardise equipment and system commissioning plans.
4. Provide advanced technical support for equipment in the field.
5. Coordinate new product field trials and document results including any opportunities for product enhancement.
6. Collate field data and evidence for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for major failures and unresolved reliability issues.
7. Engage with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to offer solutions for customer needs.
Qualifications/Requirements
8. Mechanical Trade or Engineering qualifications.
9. Hydraulic qualifications.
10. Experience in mining manufacturing and engineering or in a similar heavy engineering environment with an emphasis on field applications.
11. Exposure to mining systems and applications.
12. Experience in new product introduction for mining systems or heavy mobile machinery.
13. Working knowledge of mining system planning and operation at a mine site.
14. Intimate knowledge of field engineering problem identification and resolution processes within various aspects of the KMC business.
15. Detailed knowledge of appropriate Australian Standards, Mines Department regulations and Hazardous Area Standards.
