About the role
McConnell Dowell is seeking a highly skilled Lead Commissioning Engineer (E&I) to lead the electrical and instrumentation commissioning activities at The Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro project, located 270km northwest of Townsville. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned engineer to play a crucial part in delivering Australia's first pumped hydro power station in over 40 years.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Developing and implementing commissioning plans for E&I systems.
2. Compiling commissioning documentation, including test reports and management plans.
3. Commissioning and performance optimization of various elements of the mechanical and electrical fit-out.
4. Coordinating with managers and engineers to implement the Project Management Plan.
5. Maintaining excellent communication skills, punctuality, and a willingness to learn and develop.
6. Troubleshooting and resolving complex problems.
7. Demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
About you
1. Proven experience in project engineering, construction, and commissioning.
2. Relevant tertiary engineering qualifications.
3. Experience in process plants or power station construction is desirable.
4. A keen eye for detail, troubleshooting ability, and strong communication skills.
5. Knowledge of OHSQ and statutory requirements.
6. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to produce correspondence and technical reports.
7. A proven track record of delivering quality work under minimum supervision within a team environment, meeting deadlines.
