The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Documentation Specialist to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
1. Perform concurrent and retrospective documentation review of selected inpatient records to clarify diagnoses and procedures
2. Actively participate in clinical documentation related evaluation/research activities and attend relevant clinical meetings to identify changes in practice that may affect patient complexity
3. Ensure security and/or confidentiality of reports, data and patient files
4. Collect and collate clinical documentation KPIs
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
5. A tertiary qualification in a clinical field with extensive and relevant experience and/or knowledge and experience in Activity Based Funding and its application in a clinical environment would be well regarded
6. Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
7. Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
16. Temporary full time (12months with the possibility of extension)
17. Base salary ranging from $117 824 - $126 212 per annum
