**Role:** The classroom teacher is responsible for planning, preparing, and teaching programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
The role of a classroom teacher involves direct teaching of groups of students and individual students, contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school, and undertaking other classroom teaching-related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal.
Classroom teachers may also participate in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps, and excursions, and undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties.
**Responsibilities:**
* Teach a range of students/classes and be accountable for the effective delivery of their programs.
* Participate in the development of school policies and programs and assist in the implementation of school priorities.
* Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community to support student learning, agency, wellbeing, and engagement.
* Provide expert advice about the content, processes, and strategies that will shape individual and school professional learning.
* Supervise and train one or more student teachers.
**Requirements:**
* Must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
* From 3 August 2020, must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements.
* Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position are encouraged to apply.
