Regional SHE Director - APAC Weir Minerals Sydney, Australia Onsite The Regional SHE Director - APAC leads the deployment of the Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) management practices for the APAC Minerals division to champion zero harm and ensure compliance with local legal requirements and Weir global standards.Comprehensively understanding and aligning Weir's overarching safety, health, and environmental strategies with regional, country and site-level targets and objectives, the incumbent leads the regional SHE organisation to be an effective business partner providing data insight, agreeing priorities and leading the effective and timely execution of SHE projects and initiatives.While technical knowledge and experience in safety, health, and environmental matters are essential, success in this role equally depends on cultivating effective business partner relationships and working collaboratively with regional leadership to build a strong safety culture and drive improved SHE performance.Reporting into the Regional Managing Director - APAC, this position operates within a matrix organisation and frequently interacts with global and regional leaders to review progress on established objectives and explore opportunities for ongoing success.This is a highly influential role driving continuous improvement and collaborating with cross-functioning teams to directly impact the organisation's strong safety culture and drive for zero harm.Key Responsibilities: Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.Actively engage employees to foster a positive health and safety culture.Lead, guide and mentor a team of safety and environmental professionals to ensure effective partnering with the business across the region.Conduct strategic evaluations of SHE structures, systems, and resources.Evaluate and assess the risk profile for the APAC region and establish risk reduction initiatives.Develop, execute, and sustain a comprehensive SHE mission and strategy for the region.Generate regular regional reporting on SHE performance.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the Weir Group and Minerals Division SHE team.Develop and set key performance indicators and action plans for SHE & sustainability objectives.Oversee skills development for SHE courses across the region.Manage audits and inspections, including ISO14001, ISO45001, and Weir Group SHE Assessments.Lead incident response and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.Support managers in minimizing risks, reducing workplace accidents, and conducting accident investigations.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.Continuously evaluate and refine safety and environmental programs.Determine SHE priorities with the senior leadership team and oversee their execution.Review and address internal and external SHE compliance-related findings.Manage SHE compliance assurance processes, such as compliance calendars and preventive maintenance schedules.Oversee the post-incident review process and ensure corrective actions are effectively deployed.Verify the accuracy of data in the company's SHE database and analyse performance trends.Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Fire Protection, Environmental Science or related discipline.Minimum of ten years of experience in progressively increasing SHE leadership responsibility in a global manufacturing/service/industrial organization.Minimum of ten years of experience in managing a high-performing regional SHE team in successfully partnering with a business.Demonstrated experience leading and executing SHE priorities and initiatives to successful and impactful completion.Weir is committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace.We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, veteran status, disability, age, or any other legally protected status.#J-18808-Ljbffr
