Joining the team will see you contribute to ensuring people accessing aged care services are treated with respect and have the quality of life they deserve.This opportunity offers the chance to make a real impact through advocacy, stakeholder engagement and research, helping shape the future of an evolving and complex sector.The Role This role involves having a deep understanding of the aged care system's trends, data, priorities, and issues, including the interface with the health system. This role seeks to ensure the sector is well understood and represented, in the context of health system challenges, the state and federal interface, changing demographics, increasing complexity and morbidity, an increasingly ageing population, and changing older person preferences.You will see interesting and complex challenges, bringing together your education, skills and experience to drive meaningful insights and solutions with nation-wide impact.Key Responsibilities: Managing ACCPA’s research initiatives regarding the aged care sector and issues relevant to care outcomes for people in aged care, in collaboration with the other Policy & Advocacy teams and state managers. Developing reports based on data analysis and members survey responses, providing key insights regarding sector and older person priorities, issues, and opportunities. Engaging and collaborating with diverse member types and internal and external stakeholders to progress key priorities. Developing and overseeing high-quality submissions, position papers, and presentations. Leading, coaching, and managing a team of 2 staff members. Regularly communicating with members, including leading updates and feedback sessions on policy changes. Representing ACCPA and their members at forums and meetings, including with the government and related agencies. Understand the Australian health and aged care systems. Know how quantitative information can be used to identify trends, issues, and priorities – providing insights for the aged care sector.
