WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):
As a Senior Community Disaster Program Manager, you will guide, lead and support teams of trained volunteers to deliver comfort and care in times of disaster. Primary responsibilities include building, sustaining, and energizing the volunteer workforce to create and maintain a foundation of continuous and robust volunteer engagement using established processes and collaborating with volunteer services staff.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):
Empower Volunteers: Lead and manage a diverse volunteer team responsible for the implementation of volunteer-led disaster cycle services programming throughout the assigned geographic area.
Lead the Program: Oversee the successful implementation of disaster cycle services activities within assigned geographic area.
Mission Capacity Building: Champion and drive the development of Disaster Leadership Volunteers to meet specific responsibilities.
Engage Community: Supervise the team’s efforts to prepare and mobilize communities.
Manage in a Matrix: Build relationships and collaborate in the matrix management environment with internal partners.
Know Your Communities: Act as a regional Red Cross disaster subject matter expert.
Ready to Respond: Initiate, scale, coordinate and manage disaster relief operations.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):
Education: Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience.
Management Experience: 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
Valid Driver’s License
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills.
Proven record of accomplishment of collaboration with diverse groups.
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
Ability to work outside of regular duty hours including nights and weekends.
