As a Client Wellbeing Practitioner, you will provide direct clinical services to individuals experiencing neurodegenerative illness and mental health challenges, contributing to their overall wellbeing and helping them navigate their emotional and psychological struggles. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in wellbeing counselling or therapy, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting individuals on their journey to mental wellbeing. We're looking for individuals who possess: Bachelor of Social Work (or equivalent) and registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW); or Post-graduate specialised qualifications in counselling and/or psychotherapy; or Formal Counselling qualifications (Diploma minimum). Demonstrated experience (including clinical placements) within the mental health/disability field. A sound knowledge of the issues faced by people affected by neurodegenerative/neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease and Stroke – highly regarded. Experience delivering contemporary, evidence-based practices and therapeutic interventions appropriate for people presenting with a neurological condition. Confident presenter of educational and information sessions to the broader community. About the Role Reporting to the Wellbeing Team Leader, the Client Wellbeing Practitioner will provide support to clients of THRF Group Parkinson’s and Stroke. This role includes: Conducting comprehensive assessments. Developing personalized treatment plans. Providing counselling and therapy. Offering crisis intervention. Assess and link clients to community services and supports. Monitoring client progress. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Maintaining accurate documentation. Staying informed on mental health trends. Advocating for clients.
