Our Client is seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist to join our team and meet the growing demand within the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) sector. As a Speech Pathologist, you will be crucial in providing assessment, therapy, and support to individuals with communication and swallowing difficulties. You will collaborate as a part of the multidisciplinary team, working alongside occupational therapists, dietitians, and other professionals to provide comprehensive and integrated care to the participants. The company will reward you with above-industry average pay rates and superior administration support.
Responsibilities:
o Conducting comprehensive assessments to determine participants' speech, language, and swallowing needs.
o Designing individualized therapy plans and interventions to address participants' communication and swallowing goals.
o Advocating on behalf of NDIS participants to ensure they receive the necessary support and services.
o Writing detailed reports in compliance with NDIS requirements to document assessment findings, therapy progress, and recommendations.
o Collaborating with support coordinators, local area coordinators, and families to ensure effective communication and coordination of services.
o Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with occupational therapists, dietitians, and other professionals to provide holistic care.
o Celebrating achievements and milestones with participants, their families, and your colleagues, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
Requirements:
o NDIS experience
o Qualification as a Speech Pathologist, holding a recognized degree or equivalent.
o Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., Speech Pathology Australia).
o Experience in conducting assessments and providing therapy to individuals with various communication and swallowing difficulties.
o Knowledge of different conditions, including neurological disorders, ASD, psychosocial challenges, and their impact on communication and swallowing.
o Familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems and other assistive technologies.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare reports, liaise with stakeholders, and effectively communicate with participants and their families.
o Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, valuing teamwork and interprofessional collaboration.
o Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning in the field of speech pathology.
