The RoleAs a key member of the Centre's Operations Team, the Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers and patrons at our aquatic facilities, including 50m, leisure and hydrotherapy pools.
Key to the role is conveying information with authority and acting as a positive role model for healthy and connected communities, while maintaining a fun and safe environment for all.
Accountabilities:Maintaining constant supervision of all patrons within the aquatic facility and conduct routine patrols to ensure the safety of their designated areasPromoting and enforcing a culture of safety to patrons using the aquatic areas with specific attention to the Royal Life Saving Keep Watch PolicyPerforming various pool maintenance duties as directed, to maintain a clean and safe facilityActing immediately and appropriately to assist patrons in the event of an emergencyFollowing and leading with centre emergency action plans and procedures as required.Skills and Experience:Experience as a strong swimmerKnowledge of:lifesaving methods and procedures, including first aid and standard resuscitation measuresrules and regulations regarding conduct of the public at poolsQualifications:Current First Aid and CPR CertificateRoyal Life Saving NSW Lifeguard CertificateAbility to obtain a valid Working with Children CheckNational Police CheckIf you are not qualified but have a suitable background to match this role, we will support your training.
