Operating from their state-of-the-art facility in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne, they maintain the highest standards of manufacturing, quality assurance, and research and development.The RoleReporting to the CFO and leading the Formulations team, this role will play a crucial part in product development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Formulations & Technology Manager will manage a team of two Laboratory Officers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards and industry requirements.
Responsibilities include:Lead the development and optimisation of oil and lubricant formulations and blends to align with customer needs and quality.Formulate and blend oils and lubricants, maintaining the standard high first-time pass rate or above pass rate on product quality.Develop alternative blends and substitute formulations when supply issues arise, ensuring formulations remain accurate and meet specifications.Collaborate with suppliers to provide accurate data sheets and contribute to new packaging designs.Ensure compliance with industry standards, including business systems, ISO9001, and quality standards.Identify opportunities for product refinement and support continuous improvement of existing blends.Develop and formulate new products from inception to commercialisation, aligned with market trends and consumer needs.Lead development from lab to production, supporting and troubleshooting any issues that arise.Maintain OEM approvals and API licences.Collaborate with cross-functional teams from R&D to manufacturing to achieve product performance and quality standards.Work closely with key suppliers and the procurement team to ensure timely supply of raw materials and cost management.Your BackgroundIn order to be successful in this role, you will have:Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience in formulation development within the oil and lubricants industry.10 years' + experience within manufacturing in a similar role desirable.Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Strong leadership and people management skills.Strong understanding of industry regulations and quality standards, including ISO9001.Effective communication and collaboration skills.Ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate cost-effective solutions.What's on Offer?Opportunity to lead and shape the formulations and technology function within a growing business.Supportive environment where they are truly passionate about their people and value their employees.Fantastic EAP program.Access to cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art facilities.Employee discounts.Collaborative and innovative work environment.Exposure to cross-functional teams and high-impact projects.If you would like to discuss this opportunity further, you can contact Katie at Blackbook Executive on 0484512649.
