The Role
Advertising Council Australia (ACA) is the peak body for Australia’s leading advertising agencies. Our purpose is to foster the long-term prosperity of the industry, making advertising the most valued professional services sector in Australia.
We are on the lookout for a dynamic and passionate Professional Development Specialist who thrives on communication and teamwork. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting, administering, and delivering our professional development programs through the AdSchool, AWARD, and IPA brands. With a goal-oriented mindset, you’ll tackle challenges head-on and proactively seek innovative strategies to achieve results.
In this role, you will engage regularly with member agencies, focusing on promoting courses and maintaining ongoing communication with participants, potential participants, facilitators, speakers, and tutors. Your ability to foster strong relationships will be key to the success of our programs.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in supporting professional development initiatives, including organising and hosting impactful events. Your experience will be instrumental in creating an engaging environment that promotes growth and learning. Please note that this exciting position may require some attendance at events and courses outside regular hours.

Role Objective/ Responsibilities
Support the Professional Development Manager (PDM) in boosting engagement and registrations for ACA’s PD program, and assist with delivering courses both in-person and virtually.
1. Collaborate with PDM to conduct program reviews/development, overhaul programs and confirm facilitator/speaker/tutor/participant resources.
2. Assist with streamlining PD tools (Learn Portal/Content Hub) as well as scoping/rolling out of a new technology (LMS)
3. Provide internal administration for ACA programs, including AdSchool, AWARD School, and IPA, to ensure seamless operations.
4. Promote and sell courses to leads, members, and non-members with enthusiasm, driving engagement and achieving goals.
5. Support State Managers in weekly updates and coordinate sales efforts through calls, emails, and chasing payments.
6. Coordinate engaging AWARD School events, such as Info/Briefing Nights, Lectures, Mid-way Events, and Graduations, both in-person and online.
7. Manage the AWARD School submission, judging, and gallery platform (Award Force) from start to finish.
8. Manage AWARD School Discord Channel for students and tutors to foster community engagement.
9. Maintain course details, enrolments, and leads using training management software (Arlo), including database management and basic financial tracking.
10. Update website content (WordPress) and provide social media support to amplify our programs.
Skills, Experience and Education required
11. Minimum 5 years of experience working in training, event and project management role
12. Experience with LMS programs / digitally savvy
13. Excellent communication skills
14. Demonstrated attention to detail
15. Natural customer service focus, comfortable with responding to questions and providing advice both on the phone and via email
16. Ability to juggle multiple tasks and work to deadlines
17. Initiative and problem-solving abilities
18. Able to work without supervision but also a great team player
19. Willingness to work flexibly as some activity is delivered outside of normal business hours (Lectures / Graduations / Judging / etc – occasional circumstances)
Desired experience (but not essential):

21. Digital marketing / social media experience
22. Knowledge and experience in using Google Suite and WordPress
