Wagga Wagga City Council are looking for a motivated Plant Operator who is experienced in plant operator duties such as tractor and mower operations to fill a permanent full-time role within our Parks and Strategic Operations team.

Your new role:This position is responsible for effectively working as part of the Open Space, Horticulture and Tree Maintenance Teams to deliver a high level of presentation for the City's parks, gardens, reserves, sportsgrounds, streetscapes, and roadsides.Duties of this position will include but are not limited to:Operate Council plant and equipment with an emphasis on the presentation of the levee banks and mower and tractor operations.Undertake general labouring duties as required such as establishment and maintenance of gardens and lawns; planting; pruning; mowing; tree maintenance; whipper snipping; weeding; irrigation; soil and sediment control; rehabilitation works; chemical application; pest/disease control; maintenance of facilities; rubbish removal; traffic/pedestrian management; fencing; concreting; paving; and site safety and security.What you will need to succeed:Class C Driver's Licence.General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).A genuine interest in the presentation of park facilities and a focus on Work Health and Safety are essential to the role.In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation applicants are required to be vaccinated and provide evidence for Hepatitis B.What is next?Applications close Monday, 14 April 2025at 11.59pm AEST with interviews to be held in the week commencing Monday, 21 April 2025.
