ROLE OVERVIEWThe Quality Engineer will be responsible for all quality management requirements. This role will play a critical part in ensuring that the rolling stock meets and exceeds the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability. The Quality Engineer will oversee all aspects of quality control, quality assurance, and testing processes for rolling stock, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and uphold our commitment to excellence.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIESDevelop and implement quality management standards for rolling stock, including policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer specifications.Responsible for quality control and assurance activities throughout the manufacturing, assembly, and testing phases of rolling stock production.Establish quality metrics and quality targets to measure and monitor the performance quality management standards, and implement corrective actions as needed to address deviations and non-conformities.Conduct quality reviews to assess the effectiveness of quality control processes, identify areas for improvement, and ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and maintenance teams to implement design for manufacturability principles, ensuring that quality considerations are integrated into the product development process from concept to production.Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the quality and reliability of components, materials, and equipment used in rolling stock production, and implement supplier quality management initiatives to drive continuous improvement.Responsible for reviewing the preparation, content and layout of the Quality Management and Assurance documents for each phase of the project in conjunction with the respective Quality Manager.Manage the testing and validation of rolling stock products to verify compliance with safety standards, performance requirements, and customer expectations.Investigate and analyse quality issues, customer complaints, and warranty claims related to rolling stock products, and lead root cause analysis efforts to identify underlying causes and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.Provide training, guidance, and support to employees on quality management principles, methodologies, and best practices, fostering a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.Prepare and present regular reports and updates on quality performance, test results, and improvement initiatives to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for optimisation.Ensure all key Quality document deliverables outlined as per project requirement are updated and provided in accordance with key project milestones.Laise with and conduct regular stakeholder engagements with external quality counterparts and end customer.Policies and Procedure ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with all HRC procedures and relevant legislative requirements.Ensure compliance with HRC Fitness for Work Policy, including undertaking your own Drug & Alcohol responsibility of care and submitting to random testing as required.Ensure compliance with all emergency plans and procedures and ensuring they are displayed as appropriate within your area.Ensure compliance with all relevant Rail Safety legislation.Ensure all work is compliant with HRC Quality Management Systems policies and procedures.All personnel are responsible for ensuring the quality of their work meets specified standards and requirements.Raise any non-conformances, with regards to product or process, with immediate manager or supervisor.Qualifications, Experience and Skills RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.Experience in quality management, preferably in the rolling stock industry.High level of experience within Quality management system applications in manufacturing / production environments.Diploma in Quality Auditing preferred but not necessary.Demonstrated expertise in quality assurance methodologies, quality control techniques, and testing procedures.Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate cross-functional teams.Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to drive data-driven decision-making.Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Proficiency in quality management software tools and systems.Job Type: Full-timePay: $80,000.00 per yearExperience:quality management: 1 year (Preferred)Work Authorisation:Australia (Preferred)Work Location: In personApplication Deadline: 31/12/2024#J-18808-Ljbffr
