Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - Psychology Apply to the School of Psychology – Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences Full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 4 years Academic Level B or C Based at our St Lucia Campus About This Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching and Research-focused Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join our School of Psychology. This role is available at Academic Level B or C, depending on your skills and qualifications. As a Lecturer (Academic Level B), you will focus on enhancing your teaching, research, and service profile. You will have the opportunity to lead and coordinate activities, supervise Honours and Higher Degree by Research students, and work toward national recognition in your research field. At the Senior Lecturer level (Academic Level C), you will build on your already established achievements in teaching (including clinical teaching where applicable), research, and service. You will lead and coordinate staff activities and demonstrate an active and successful record of supervising Higher Degree by Research students to completion as principal supervisor. Key responsibilities will include: Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules. Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions. Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits. Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values. Additionally, you will demonstrate: A growing profile in teaching and research in the discipline area. A developing reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences. Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding. Evidence of a high level of quality teaching at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate level across a variety of settings, including small and large groups. Experience in course coordination and contribution to the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area. A growing record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion. Experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with active contributions to external activities. Level C Applicants should possess a PhD in psychology. Additionally, you will demonstrate: An established profile in teaching and research in the discipline area. National recognition in the area of expertise, with an internationally developing profile and an established record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences. A strong record of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding. Evidence of a high level of quality teaching at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate level across a variety of settings, including small and large groups. A strong track record of course coordination and participation in the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area. A solid record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion. A growing record of meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with a strong contribution to external activities.
