Join a growing team that ensures the safety of our State by looking after our fleet of emergency vehicles – the same vehicles that are used to fight bushfires, help at road crash rescues and attend other emergencies every single day.
We currently have one (1) permanent position available for immediate filling.
This selection process may be used to fill other similar at level vacancies that arise and will be valid until exhausted or a decision is made to close it off. Applicants deemed suitable but not recommended, may be considered for those roles.
About the Role
It’s a workplace where no two days are the same. Our technicians enable our operations team to continue to respond to emergencies at all times.
As a light vehicle mechanical technician at DFES, you can expect to:
1. Diagnose, repair and maintain our emergency vehicles and equipment such as Toyota Light Tankers, Trailers, Auxiliary small engines, and other related fleet & equipment.
2. Provide technical advice and training to staff and external contractors.
3. Provide technical support at fire grounds and emergency incidents.
4. Undertake comprehensive on-the-job training including any relevant High Risk licences training.
