Job Highlights:Contract: Independent ContractorSchedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm AEDT/Melbourne time (with a 30-min lunch break). May need to go on rotational 5-hour coverage during weekends.
Overview:We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to join our team and manage the end-to-end logistics of our shipping operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth, timely, and compliant shipping processes, resolving issues, and maintaining strong relationships with carriers, suppliers, and customers.
Key Responsibilities: Logistics Coordination:Track and monitor collections to ensure timely delivery to the wharf during ship receivals.Book vehicle collections with carriers across Australia, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and complete.Communication & Customer Service:Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers, suppliers, and customers to resolve shipping issues or delays.Respond promptly to customer inquiries, providing timely and effective solutions.Compliance & Documentation:Ensure compliance with all relevant shipping regulations and standards.Enter new jobs into the shipping portal and ensure timely delivery of invoices and confirmations to customers.Problem Solving & Troubleshooting:Identify and resolve issues related to shipment delays, damaged goods, or other logistical challenges.Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure swift resolution of any shipping concerns.Reporting & Tracking:Maintain accurate records of shipping activities, including job entries, invoicing, and communications.Provide regular updates on shipping status to internal teams and customers.RequirementsExperience: Minimum of 3 years in logistics, shipping coordination, or a related field.Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.Skills:Strong organizational and multitasking skills.Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.Proficiency in shipping portals, Microsoft Office Suite, and logistics software.High attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of Australian shipping regulations and processes.Experience working with carriers and wharf operations.Familiarity with vehicle shipping and related documentation.Key Competencies:Customer-focused with a commitment to service excellence.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Strong analytical and decision-making skills.Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams.Please note that since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an "Independent Contractor" arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection.
