We are partnering with them to find an experienced HR Business Partner to play an important role in this forward-thinking organisation.
About the role: As the HR Business Partner, you'll handle all human resources functions for all the professional staff and elected student representatives, including recruitment, onboarding, contracts, and offboarding.
Additionally, you'll be responsible for industrial relations and implementing effective HR processes.
Reporting directly to the CFO and Director of Operations, you will have one direct report and collaborate with various departments to develop, review, and update human resources policies, ensuring they are current, relevant, and aligned with the goals of this Student Union.
Key responsibilities: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, induction, and performance management to ensure smooth HR processes.
Provide operational advice, coaching, and support to enhance staff culture and achievements.
Manage industrial relations issues and ensure they are resolved effectively.
Ensure consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and frameworks across the organization.
Prepare contracts, support payroll, and manage employee development.
Implement and monitor HR systems, and oversee Occupational Health and Safety processes.
Job requirements: Postgraduate qualifications with extensive human resources experience.
Experience in managing complaints and grievances with a strong grasp of legal and ethical responsibilities.
Knowledge of employment law, workplace safety, and relevant statutory obligations.
Driven to work with students and keen to work on-site at the vibrant union.
Experience in working in the public sector (not for profit, higher education sector, a union or membership-based organisation).
