About the Role
This 12-month contract opportunity is for a Senior Network Engineer within our Cloud Network Services team in Sydney.
You'll play a key role in safeguarding critical network infrastructure in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Vulnerability Management:
o Lead identification, assessment, and remediation of network vulnerabilities.
o Analyze vulnerability scan results, prioritize based on severity, and develop remediation strategies.
o Collaborate with security teams to address vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards.
* NetOps & Network Upgrades:
o Plan and execute network device upgrades in line with ServiceNow policies.
o Maintain network configurations and documentation.
o Collaborate with global teams to align network security objectives.
* Incident Response:
o Investigate security incidents related to vulnerabilities.
o Coordinate response activities to ensure timely resolution.
Requirements
* 6+ years of experience in ISP and data center network engineering.
* Solid foundation in routing, switching, security, and load balancing.
* Expertise with network technologies (BGP, OSPF, HSRP/VRRP, etc.) and TCP/IP protocols.
* Hands-on experience with tools like Wireshark and vulnerability assessment tools (Nessus, Qualys).
Desirable Skills
* Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, F5, Palo Alto systems.
* NGINX and Fortinet are a plus.
* 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
* Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) and automation (Ansible, Terraform).
