About The Role
Romano's Pizzeria Mandurah is seeking a full-time chef. We welcome hospitality professionals who are motivated to bring knowledge, passion and experience to this venue and are excited to learn and grow in this business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and create menus that reflect Romano's Pizzeria Mandurah's freshly made gourmet pizzas and pastas concept, utilizing fresh, seasonal and locally sourced produce, particularly from local WA suppliers and farmers.
* Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking and plating, ensuring dishes align with the café's fresh and seasonal identity.
* Ensure that all meals meet high standards in taste, appearance and consistency, with special attention to presentation of food.
* Coordinate with local suppliers and the orchard itself for fresh produce. Manage inventory and order ingredients based on seasonality and café demand, minimizing waste by using perishable ingredients creatively.
* Lead, train and supervise kitchen staff in techniques appropriate to the café's menu, emphasizing sustainability and efficient kitchen operations.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations, with particular attention to handling and preserving fresh produce.
* Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen environment.

Requirements
* Minimum Cert IV in commercial cookery and overall Diploma level qualification preferably in hospitality industry
* At least one year of experience in a similar role
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work unsupervised
* Strong knowledge of cooking procedures and ingredients
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $74,000 per year plus superannuation
