Are you an experienced Development Planner with a passion for renewable energy projects? Our client is seeking a motivated individual to join their dynamic team and contribute to the planning and development of 5MW Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) farms across South Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales.
About the Role:
As a Development Planner, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the planning and approval processes for the renewable energy project pipelines. You’ll work closely with internal teams, external consultants, councils, and regulatory bodies to ensure the smooth progression of development applications and compliance with all necessary regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct site reviews and evaluations, ensuring alignment with proposed project use
* Engage with landowners, councils, and other stakeholders to secure agreements and approvals
* Prepare and review Statements of Environmental Effects (SEE) and specialist reports
* Manage the submission of development applications (DA) and supporting documents
* Oversee DA progress, liaising with councils and other authorities to facilitate timely approvals
* Ensure compliance with planning regulations and manage modifications to DAs
* Prepare management plans for Construction Certificates (CC), Building Rules Consent (BRC), and Occupation Certificates (OC)
* Act as the key point of contact for council queries and manage easement processes
What You’ll Bring:
* Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or a related field
* Experience in development planning, preferably within the renewable energy sector
* Strong understanding of planning regulations, environmental legislation, and stakeholder engagement
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
* Experience working with councils, landowners, and third-party consultants
