The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the care team within a specific unit. You will play a pivotal role in providing compassionate and competent care to Arcare Residents while maintaining a supportive and positive work environment for the care team.
Your primary functions will be:
1. Resident Care: Ensuring the delivery of high-quality and person-centered care to residents, addressing their specific medical, physical, and emotional needs.
2. Staff Supervision: Managing and leading a team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, caregivers and support staff.
3. Care Planning: Overseeing the development and implementation of individual care plans for each resident, considering their unique health requirements and preferences.
4. Medication Management: Ensuring proper administration and management of medications for residents, adhering to prescribed schedules and protocols.
5. Family Communication: Communicating effectively with residents' families or legal guardians, providing updates on their loved one's condition and involving them in care decisions when appropriate.
Skills & Experience
6. Current AHPRA Registration.
7. Minimum of 2 years experience in Aged Care as a Registered Nurse.
8. Knowledge of Aged Care accreditation standards.
9. Comprehensive knowledge and experience with ANNAC.
10. Expertise in medication administration and wound care with a commitment to ongoing clinical excellence.
11. Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
12. An outstanding proficiency in care planning, goal setting and evaluation documentation.
13. Capability to effectively lead and manage a team.
