As we continue our journey in helping all Australians, we have a position for a Buying Assistant to join our Merchandise Team in our Garden & Accessories team.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing operational support to the Buyer with a focus on administrative tasks, raising orders and managing samples. You will be highly organised and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
This is a hybrid role working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday’s in our Support Office and the rest of the week from home.
Key Responsibilities:
* Write purchase orders and manage the purchase order process with vendors, including follow ups
* Article creations and ensuring SAP reflects accurate article details.
* Ensure all mark ups and markdown management is completed and ensure SAP reflects correct pricing
* Ensure relevant administrative tasks are completed in a timely manner on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
* Use merchandise reports to provide ongoing analysis and interpretation of key business issues
* Sample Management and promotional activity administration
* Maintain communication with vendors and internal teams to ensure on time shipments.
* Maintain external relationships with all suppliers and overseas buying agents
* Manage supplier contact details.
The preferred candidate will have the following experience and attributes:
* We’re looking for a person with 1 – 2 years’ experience in a Retail background working in a support office environment and/or store environment
* Demonstrated experience in using MS Office suite; intermediate excel skills, word, PowerPoint etc
* Strong organization skills and attention to detail
* Strong analytical skills to create data driven decisions
* Ability to communicate well and build relationships with relevant stakeholders
