About the role:
As the Senior Commercial Finance Analyst for Nova Systems, you will play a pivotal role in providing commercial financial support, analysis, and governance.
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance ANZ, this position demands strong analytical skills, a robust governance and financial control mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement.
You will work closely with project teams to ensure precise financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle, facilitate budgeting and forecasting processes, and deliver monthly management reports and analyses.

What you will be involved in:
1. Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles for Nova Systems ANZ, including documenting assumptions, providing guidance, analysing budget submissions, conducting scenario analyses, and offering recommendations to management
2. Enhance budget management effectiveness and efficiency by ensuring transparency and clear alignment from budget work papers to reported outcomes in ANZ’s budget management system
3. Prepare management reports, conduct variance analysis, and provide commentary on ANZ operating unit results
4. Deliver financial analysis and data-driven insights to support timely and informed decision-making
5. Assist with quarterly management and contract reviews
6. Oversee and maintain the overhead allocation methodology, including overhead recovery and rates analysis, and provide recommendations as needed
7. Collaborate with the ANZ Finance team to define, develop, and deliver project and portfolio performance reporting and P&L performance reporting
8. Manage project revenue, including optimisation, control, and governance procedures
9. Provide financial insights and recommendations to project teams and management throughout the project lifecycle to maximize project profitability and ensure financial integrity and transparency
10. Identify inefficiencies in existing financial processes and recommend improvements to streamline operations and enhance accuracy
11. Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, finance colleagues, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration
What we would like from you:
12. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce, finance, or a related field, along with professional accounting qualifications (CPA, CA, or equivalent)
13. Demonstrated experience in financial governance and control
14. Proven track record in financial planning and analysis within commercial and / or project settings
15. Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial concepts, with the ability to apply them in project contexts, including revenue recognition
16. Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques
17. Advanced proficiency in Excel
18. Extensive data analysis skills with a history of providing data-driven insights
19. Experience with large ERP systems (, SAP, Oracle)
20. Comfortable working with ambiguity and change, including greenfield environments
