Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide technical assistance to internal and external customers and ensure timely and cost-effective support in accordance with guidelines. Each day, you will contribute to customer satisfaction by executing support work according to customer expectations. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention by delivering superior customer experience.
The work model for the role is: #L-hybrid. This role is contributing to the eMobility business in Notting Hill; Australia.
1. Providing technical advice and support to ABB’s project and product partners on setup, commissioning and troubleshooting for AC and DC Chargers.
2. Repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and service electrical charging infrastructure using skills and tools that range from computer diagnostics to basic electrical tools.
3. Offering technical advice and providing comments on enquiry specifications for customers/channels/Sales Engineers with regards to ABB EV charging and providing technical support during technical meetings, product presentations, and negotiations.
4. Performing analytic and diagnostic studies to determine the most suitable technical solution to meet customer needs and proposing technical solutions for complex enquiries.
5. Supporting formulating competitive bids/estimates/quotations, taking into account the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation and managing external services to support bid/estimation preparation such as translations and governmental approvals.
6. Regularly reporting the status of the bids/estimates/quotations using defined tools and collecting and analyzing the reasons for tenders being lost and won, also collecting and archiving documentation regarding the offer/order and recording assumptions and decisions taken during the development process.
7. Ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process, providing any necessary technical support to Sales Managers during technical meetings with customers, and establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs.
8. Identifying potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluating supplier offers to check match with specifications and collaborating with Supply Chain Management to coordinate requests to subcontractors.
Qualifications for the role
* Tertiary degree or trade qualifications in Engineering (electrical/electronic/mechatronics), or alternatively trade qualifications with demonstrated experience in industry.
* Knowledge and interest in power distribution and electronic power rectifiers and/or inverters is preferred.
* Experience with troubleshooting power electronic equipment and hands-on field experience is an advantage.
* Demonstrated experience in Electric Vehicle Charging technologies.
* Knowledge on SAP platform considered advantageous.
* Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with time management, coordination, accuracy, attention to detail, and performing in a pressure environment are necessary.
