Senior Scientist Continuous Shift, Queensland HealthJoin our hard-working team based in Rockhampton.This is an exciting, fixed-term temporary part-time opportunity for 6 months.This role supports the Group Laboratory Manager (GLM) to deliver a 24-hour pathology service to the HHS by participating in and supervising a team of multi-skilled scientists working on the continuous shift roster.Key Responsibilities include:Participate in management meetings to support the 24-hour shift team and ensure alignment with the strategic direction of the Rockhampton group.Use effective communication and leadership skills to understand clinical governance and integrate the needs of the HHS to deliver essential 24-hour pathology services.Competently supervise, coordinate, roster, and performance manage the 24-hour shift team.Apply independent high-level scientific problem-solving skills, sharing knowledge with others in the team as a resource person to develop capability.Provide advice and direction for the team to ensure service standards are met, including Performance Development Planning (PDP) for the team.Guide and support the team to deliver an exemplary service to customers that exceeds customer needs.Participate in quality activities to ensure exemplary service delivery.You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:Clinical expertise : Demonstrated clinical expertise across multi-skilled disciplines in Pathology required in a 24-hour shift setting.Clinical ability : Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of situations that require complex problem-solving skills.Leadership skills : Ability to build, develop, and manage a small team using contemporary leadership skills.Team capability : Ability to develop and implement quality improvement activities in accordance with NATA and ISO requirements.Team participation : Demonstrated ability to work as part of and lead a small team to achieve KPIs that can be measured and reported upon using contemporary methods.Qualifications, registrations, and other requirements:Possession of a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or equivalent is essential.Management qualifications will be highly regarded.How to Apply:Please provide the following information to the panel to assess your suitability:A short written response (maximum 1-2 pages, dot points acceptable) on how your experience, abilities, knowledge, and personal qualities would enable you to achieve the key responsibilities and meet the skill requirements of the role.Your current CV or resume, including two referees who have a thorough knowledge of your capabilities, work performance, and conduct within the previous two years.It is preferable to include your current, immediate, or past supervisor.#J-18808-Ljbffr
