Apex Building Products Bendigo is looking to recruit a Production Manager. Based in our factory premises at East Bendigo, Apex Building Products is part of the national Apex Steel Group, which is a leader in supply & distribution to the Australian steel building products markets.
The Production Manager oversees all aspects of the manufacturing process to ensure efficient production operations and timely delivery of products. This role involves planning, organizing, and coordinating production activities, managing resources, and implementing quality and safety standards to meet production targets and customer requirements.
Qualifications and Licenses Relevant certifications or licenses may be required depending on the industry. First aid certificate Production Planning & Scheduling Develop production plans and schedules to meet customer demand and production targets. Coordinate with sales, inventory, and procurement teams to ensure availability of materials and resources for production. Resource Management Manage production staff, including hiring, training, and performance management, to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce. Allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimize production efficiency and minimize downtime. Quality Assurance Implement and enforce quality control measures and standards to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address quality issues and non-conformities. Process Improvement Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the production process. Implement best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and reduce waste. Health and Safety Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards in the production environment. Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols among production staff. Production Reporting and Analysis Monitor production performance, including output, efficiency, and quality metrics, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.
