The cadet performs a range of clinical support activities and on the job skills development while engaged in formal full-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire the relevant entry level qualification (mandatory) for employment as a Health Practitioner in Queensland.
Cadets are employed casually to accommodate the commitments required by their studies while gaining pre-registration exposure to the workplace. The cadet contributes to pharmacy service delivery model within the Townsville University Hospital under the delegation and practice supervision of an allied health professional in the provision of effective patient care.
Generous casual rates of $36.97 - $43.48 per hour (HP1) :
1. 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Clinical Ability:
2. Under supervision, ability to provide a defined range of patient interventions as delegated by the Pharmacist.
3. Ability to work under direction and within the limitations of a defined role in patient care.
4. Demonstrated ability to effectively use computers and general office equipment and to quickly acquire ability to use new information and data systems.
5. Demonstrated ability to learn and commitment to train in specific handling and technical skills and competencies relevant to the position.
Team Participation/ Communication:
6. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team with a good understanding of own scope of practice in a complex and demanding work environment.
7. Demonstrated skills in self-organisation and initiative to enable the timely completion of a variety of tasks allowing efficient service function.
Requirements
8. This position requires the incumbent to possess proof of enrolment in a recognised Pharmacy tertiary-level program that results in a Pharmacy qualification.
9. This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
10. This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
