Solicitor - Family and Domestic Violence Northern Rivers Community Legal Centre – Lismore NSW The Northern Rivers Community Legal Centre (NRCLC) is an independent, important, and dynamic social justice organisation that has been operating on Bundjalung country since the mid-1990s. NRCLC strives to create a safe, inclusive, equitable and connected Northern Rivers community, where everyone is supported to adapt and thrive. NRCLC is a multi-disciplinary legal practice which spans generalist civil advice, family and domestic violence law advice and disaster recovery advice. The Service also encompasses a Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service and a Tenants Advice and Advocacy Service. The position is banded from SCHADS Award Grade 6 with a salary range of $106,676 to $113,391.90 per annum (dependent upon qualifications, skills and experience), plus superannuation and leave loading. Current Practising Certificate, or eligibility to practice as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of NSW and High Court of Australia. Two (2) years demonstrated experience in providing legal advice and assistance in family law, domestic violence and associated matters. Demonstrated experience working with and empathy for target client groups, including women experiencing or at risk of family violence, and demonstrated cultural competency with Aboriginal clients and communities. Higher order written and verbal communication skills including demonstrated ability to apply conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a co-operative and respectful work environment and to work with minimal supervision. Experience with Legal Case Management Systems and Microsoft programs. Current driver's licence and willingness to travel in the region and work at outreach locations. Knowledge of and experience in Community Legal Centres or Family Relationship Centres. Experience in advocating with Police and DLVOs. Experience in law reform activities.
