We are seeking a dedicated and skilled maintenance officer for a part-time role (3 days a week) to manage a diverse range of maintenance and repair tasks at our Smithfield laboratory. This position involves performing routine and reactive maintenance duties, including general site repairs, equipment upkeep, and site clean-up. A commitment to safety and productivity, the ability to work independently, and a current driver’s license with access to personal transport are essential.
The day to day
* Perform routine preventative and reactive maintenance duties.
* Conduct general facility site repairs.
* Maintain and repair all on-site equipment.
* Conduct site clean-up.
* Air conditioning servicing and cleaning.
* Fume cupboard/extraction major inspections.
* Dispose of bulk rubbish.
* DI water servicing.
* Some travel within Sydney metro is likely but role is to be based at Smithfield.
* Coordination of maintenance duties.
The Essentials
* Previous experience with power tools & equipment on a professional or personal level.
* Experience with facilities management tasks such as plumbing, compressed air, and HVAC and/or a trade would be advantageous.
* Mechanical aptitude is beneficial.
* Excellent work ethic.
* Committed to a safety culture while maximizing productivity.
* Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision whilst being committed to the work of a team.
* Current driver’s license (C class) manual and own transport to and from the workplace.
* Ability to handle a busy and diverse workload.
