Housing - Supported Residential Services | LauncestonAre you ready to make a difference in the community?We are seeking a Facility Supervisor for a permanent, part-time (64 hours a fortnight) at the Youth2Independence program facility, Thyne House, based in Launceston.This is a ‘live-in’ role. The successful applicant must remain on site for the duration of their shifts. The successful applicant has the option to live on site full-time in separate accommodation next door to the facility.It includes an 8 hour work day (9.00am to 5.00pm) and being on call (5.00pm to 9.00am the next morning with a 24 Hour Care Shift Loading applicable).The role works 8 days (64 hours) a fortnight - 9.00am Monday morning until 9.00am Friday morning each week.This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the community and support young Tasmanians in need.What you will be doing in this role:With the support worker, conduct initial assessments for new applicants.Complete required paperwork with all applicants/tenants.Ensure tenants are aware of and abide by all the conditions contained in their lease agreement and be able to manage tenant conflicts in a fair and reasonable manner.Work effectively and regularly liaise with the Support Worker to ensure the smooth running of the facility.Maintain grounds and garden.Attend to basic maintenance as well as routine cleaning of communal areas.What we can offer you:Base hourly rate range of $38.90 - $40.56 (plus the 24 hour care shift loading of 155% - Monday to Saturday);A dynamic, fast-paced environment;Opportunities for personal and professional growth;Collaborative team culture.You must have:A knowledge of the issues pertaining to people experiencing homelessness and a conceptual understanding of the social and political context in which they occur and the concept of and issues associated with communal living.High level interpersonal and verbal communication skills including the ability to:engage with young people in a respectful manner that promotes independence and resilience;conduct interviews and assessments;facilitate mediation and conflict resolution processes.Effectively utilise the Support Worker and Manager – Adult Supported Accommodation Facilities to ensure tenancy issues are dealt with in a timely manner.Well-developed computer and written communication skills including the ability to:Prepare and write reports;Collect data and complete evaluations;Keep accurate and appropriate records in accordance with Anglicare guidelines.Sound knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding privacy and confidentiality, resident feedback and participation and their application to practice.Sound understanding of relevant legislation including the Residential Tenancy Act 1997 and occupational health and safety requirements or willingness to develop these through participation in training including a sound understanding of quality assurance measures and their role in improving services provided for tenants.Ability to contribute to a professional team environment including team de-briefing, program planning activities and a variety of other team-based consultative processes.Good time management skills with the ability to effectively set priorities and an ability to plan and implement general cleaning and maintenance duties for the site.The Position Description can be found below.For further information about the position, please contact Rebekka Gale, Manager – Youth2Independence, on 0491 216 773 or rebekkag@anglicare-tas.org.au during business hours.The successful applicant will be required to:Provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check;Present a Probity type Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (National Police Check) which is no older than 12 months;Provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;Provide a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical;Provide a current provisional or full Australian Driver Licence;Have a current First Aid certificate (training can be provided).On commencement the successful applicant will be required to undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.This position is available for an immediate start and applications will be shortlisted upon receipt.If you are interested in joining our team, please click on the 'APPLY’ link below to commence your application.
