Cisco seeks a Network Engineer Intern to join the APJ Customer Proof of Concept (CPOC) organization in Sydney, Australia.
The Intern will work closely with the APJ CPOC team to deliver product and/or solution validation engagements that aid in closing out sales opportunities.
The engagement involves preparing testbeds for engineers to work on, maintaining and enhancing network infrastructure, daily administration of the CPOC lab, inventory management, and ensuring Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) compliance.
This opportunity provides a pathway for the Intern to participate directly in customer engagements, gain experience with various Cisco solutions, and build skills in networking, IT, or computer science.
Responsibilities:
* Gain knowledge and experience with Cisco solutions aimed at Service Providers
* Support demonstration of Cisco technology and solutions
* Participate in customer engagements under local Systems Engineer guidance
* Assist local SE teams in delivering POC engagements
* Provide administrative support as needed
* Collaborate with peers and mentor new co-ops
* Receive in-depth training and industry-leading certifications (expected CCNA by intern term end)
Qualifications:
* Pursuing an advanced degree or certification (bachelors, masters, TAFE, community college, technical bootcamp, or educated programs)
* Passionate about networking, IT, or computer science
* Knowledge of adjacent technologies, holding Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP), or industry-recognized certifications and scripting ability (Python or Java)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to troubleshoot technical problems
* Ability to multi-task, self-start, work in a fast-paced team environment, and independently
* Willingness to take on new challenges and develop skills
* Australian Permanent Resident or Australian/New Zealand Citizen
