Associate Midwife Unit Manager (AMUM) – Thomson Unit
Based in Gippsland, Latrobe Regional Health are looking for an Associate Midwife Unit Manager to join our Women’s, Children and Birthing Unit on a part time, ongoing basis.
Women’s and Children’s Services at LRH is embarking on an exciting development with relocating into brand new ward areas in the 3A hospital expansion due for completion at the start of 2024. The service is expanding capacity with additional Birth suites and maternity inpatient beds, 24/7 Pregnancy Assessment Unit and a SCN for up to 12 babies. The service is also introducing exciting midwifery models of care with commencement of Maternity Group practice (MGP) in the near future.
We’re looking for an AMUM who is passionate about women’s and babies’ health and playing a key role in leading our Midwifery team. Working closely with the Midwife Unit Manager, you’ll provide leadership and support with the clinical and administrative management of the Maternity Unit, ensuring the achievement of quality patient outcomes are achieved. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the workload capacity and will build and foster close working relationships with the MUM, NUM, Hospital Coordinators, ANUMs, AMUMs the wider Thomson team and other key stakeholders.

We are looking for candidates with:
6. Minimum 5 years clinical experience
7. RANZCOG - Fetal Surveillance Education Program (FSEP)
8. Excellent leadership qualities
9. Competent in escalation and management of an obstetric emergency including a neonatal resuscitation
10. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
