With a strong ongoing portfolio for infrastructure planning in Queensland, Arup's Transport Planning team is looking for an experienced transport modeller to contribute to the delivery of a variety of multi-disciplinary transport infrastructure planning projects. The Queensland Transport Planning team consists of around 25 transport planners, engineers, and modellers across our Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Cairns offices. The successful candidate will have sound team working, time management, analytical, and communication skills, and will have the ability to work under pressure. The Opportunity Work within transport planning project teams to support project delivery through data analysis, automation/scripting, operational/strategic modelling, report writing, and developing solutions for infrastructure and planning projects. Take responsibility for small discrete packages of work within transport planning projects. Ensure the quality of your work by checking it prior to senior review, consistent with Arup's Quality Management System. Collaborate productively with the wider team and seek opportunities to support their work. Prioritise and organise your work to meet the time and quality demands of team/projects. Recognised tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as engineering, transport planning, mathematics, economics, computer science, statistics, or physics. Experience with operational traffic modelling software including Aimsun, VISSIM, and intersection analysis tools like SIDRA. Basic programming, GIS, and spatial analysis skills, such as Python or ArcGIS, QGIS. A minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience in transport planning or modelling, ideally within a consulting business environment. Effective written communication and report writing skills, with the ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments.
