Job DescriptionReporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources (HR) Business Partner holds a key strategic role responsible for aligning human resource practices with the organisational goals and enhancing the overall employee experience. This role focuses on delivering expert advice and support on employee relations (ER), leading investigations, driving HR systems improvements, and managing HR-related projects from end to end. The HR Business Partner will serve as a trusted advisor fostering a positive values-based culture, ensuring compliance, and prioritising operational efficiency.

Lead by example in adhering to Disaster Relief Australia's (DRA's) values of Courage, Respect, Service, and Tenacity, and support a positive, values-based culture across the organisation.Champion a culture of transparency, integrity and accountability within DRA, embedding organisational values into decision-making processes at all levels.Work collegiately with other leaders to pursue DRA's vision and realise its overarching strategic goals.Collaborate with business leaders to align HR strategies with organisational goals.Partner as a trusted advisor and facilitator with leaders, managers and teams on all aspects of the employee lifecycle.Identify workforce trends and proactively recommend solutions to enhance performance and employee engagement.Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with relevant industrial instruments and organisational policies.Lead thorough end-to-end investigations into employee concerns, grievances, or misconduct, and deliver fair and commensurately weighted investigative outcomes.Provide expert coaching and guidance to managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.In partnership with the HR Coordinator, lead the optimisation of the HR Information System (HRIS) (ELMO) to improve efficiency, data accuracy, user experience, and ensuring that the HRIS is used to its full capacity.Report on HR metrics to evolve the evaluation and effectiveness of HR processes.Where required support organisational recruitment efforts.Lead cross-functional HR projects, such as people related process improvement, compliance activities, change management, and policy and procedural redesign.Review and update HR policies and procedures to reflect organisational and legislative changes.Key challenges of this position include:
