Job Summary
:
As Lead Process Designer, you will lead and carry out drafting of process drawings such as Process Flow Diagrams and P&IDs in close coordination with the Lead Process Engineer.
You will be working with other engineering disciplines, procurement and construction to deliver projects that meet and exceed our customer’s expectations for quality, cost, schedule, safety and benefit to their business.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Design and check process flow diagrams (based on process engineering input) using MicroStation or equivalent software package.
2. Design and check P&IDs (based on process engineering input) using SmartPlant P&ID.
3. Manage process design drawings through their lifecycle of development, issue, comment and backdraft.
4. Check data on P&IDs for consistency and conformance with project procedures. Assist Project Automation team with export of P&ID data to downstream users.
5. Contribute to team success through good communication, good planning, management of change, and a customer-focused attitude.
6. Manage process design personnel in their day-to-day work.
Education and Experience Requirements:
7. Typically requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
8. Experience with “intelligent” P&ID drafting software such as SmartPlant P&ID.
9. At least 2 years experience in process design for feasibility studies and detailed design in the mining and metals industries.
10. Well-developed skills in teamwork, communication, problem solving and client engagement.
