Join our dynamic team at Mission Australia and help transform lives through our three exciting programs!
You will support members of our community often experiencing co-occurring illness relating to mental illness and/or alcohol and drug concerns, as well as their families and carers.
Dive into a range of impactful activities—lead engaging group sessions, community outreach educating the broader community on Alcohol and Other Drug supports available.
At times you may provide compassionate one-on-one counselling, advocate for clients, manage cases, and connect people with essential services.
Your key responsibilities will be to: Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, stakeholders, and service providers.
Support the design and implement community-based programs and initiatives Opportunities may arise to provide education and training sessions to community members, service providers, and stakeholders on AOD-related topics.
Facilitate access to support services for individuals and families affected by AOD use Collect and analyze data on community needs and program outcome.
Work collaboratively with other service providers, community organizations, and stakeholders to coordinate efforts and maximize impact.
Requirements for Success Understand the importance of community development and education to support addressing stigma and improving referral pathways into AoD Services Understanding from combined lived experience and professional development about factors that support recovery and a proven ability to use this to positively support others on their recovery journey Demonstrated professional approach to the role including maintaining professional boundaries.
Relevant training inc certificate IV, diploma, degree levels in related fields of AoD, Peer Work, Social Work or Psychology or at least 1-3 year experience in related fields Demonstrated ability to provide specialised or complex therapeutic interventions and manage a caseload of complex client.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including highly developed administrative skills.
