Roadworthy Clinic in Woodridge has a friendly team and our extensive services include mechanical repairs, car servicing, log book services, safety certificates, and pre-purchase inspections, fleet services, and new parts warranty.
We are currently seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team in a full time role, working 38 hours per week.
Applicants should be hard-working, reliable, and prepared to handle all aspects of the job. Attention to detail is essential during maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. A solid understanding of workplace practices and a strong focus on safety are also required. Additionally, candidates must be physically fit, demonstrating stamina, strength, and endurance.
Duties and responsibilities include:
* Assess vehicles to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
* Liaise with clients to determine their automotive requirements and communicate vehicular defects or problems.
* Provide routine inspections of vehicles and inform clients of any issues.
* Provide customers with detailed estimates for repairs and replacements and obtain signature approval prior to commencing work.
* Repair vehicles based on the diagnosed issues and repair estimate.
* Test drive vehicles after repairs are complete to ensure mechanical soundness and to determine whether any other problems exist.
* Describe the vehicle's condition to the customer and answer any follow-up questions.
* File appropriate documentation on each repair.
* Keep the workplace neat and clean
* After every job keep the tools back at their place nice and clean
Applicants must have an Australian recognised trade qualification Cert III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) or equivalent, as well as least 1 year of relevant experience.
Applicants also:
* Must have Open Driver License
* Must have strong commitment to OHS
* Must know about the checks to perform while doing roadworthy inspections.
* Must have the ability to check conditions of differentials, clutches, automatic gearboxes and engines while test driving the cars.
* Must be able to diagnose knocking or other unusual sounds coming from cars.
They will also need to know how to use a scanner tool, lathe machine, bearing press machine, tyre machine, wheel balance, and various hand tools. Applicants should also be flexible in working both indoors and outdoors, including in cramped spaces, and must be team-oriented, willing to support and learn from others while being open to feedback.
A salary between $74,000 - $75,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
