Job Description We are looking for someone who can: Develop and drive Netball Australia's media and PR strategy Promote Netball's share of voice in the media to ensure it is well covered in the sports media landscape Leverage, and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets and senior journalists constantly driving awareness of the sport Provide media advice and counsel to key stakeholders, including through media training Support the General Manager of Corporate Affairs and Executive on critical media and stakeholder matters Collaborate with the Commercial and Brand Team to drive broadcast viewership and create content and brand opportunities Lead a culture of proactive communications and media engagement, including briefings and increased access Lead Netball Australia's stakeholder engagement communications plan Lead media and PR activity for the Origin Australian Diamonds, including strategic support for athletes and coaching staff Build, leverage and maintain relationships with critical stakeholders, including Member Organisations and Suncorp Super Netball teams Create and oversee content such as media releases, videos, publications, copy for website, speech notes and briefings Manage media events, including launches and announcements Monitor and analyse media coverage, providing insights and recommendations to optimise PR efforts Mentor the Media and PR Coordinator Desired Skills and Experience The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience: At least ten years of experience in a similar communications role, preferably in elite sport Excellent written and verbal communication and accuracy Strong attention to detail and ability to plan and deliver end-to-end earned media strategies Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver media events including major announcements and press conferences Strong experience in using multiple distribution channels to ensure maximum impact of message Experience of managing staff Excellent media contacts Experience working in a high performance environment Knowledge of netball an advantage On the cusp of our centenary, and significant opportunity leading into the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney, there has never been a more exciting time to join.
